I have tried to find the answer but my key words aren't helping me find what I'm looking for and I hope someone can help. My Silver Fox doe gave birth a few days ago. Leading up to the event, I had provided her with a nesting box with lots of fun things to build her nest. She continued to remove everything and put it up the ramp into her sleeping area to build the nest. Being that she is a young, first mom, I didn't want to stress her out taking things out of the space she was building and guide her to the nesting box. Well, she has been awesome with her babies but because of where they are, I would love to move all of them to the nesting box. My desire to do this is for a few reasons. I want them in a safer place as they will grow quickly and could get hurt with this ramp. Also, I want to be able to keep their area clean and right now, it would be difficult to do.
This cage is very good size and the nesting box would be on the main level only a few feet away from where they are now. Would she abandon them? Would she try to carry them back? Of course I would move all of the original nesting material with them. Any insight would be super appreciated!!
